independent reading

What I am reading is I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga. It’s about a boy named Jazz (Jasper) whose father was a serial killer, but is now in prison, and how he is trying to solve a serial killer case. My thoughts so far are that why does everyone think he is going to be a serial killer? He gets threats from the victims’ families whom his father killed. Because I am at the part where the killer is introduced as the impressionist, and he knows about Jazz, so I think it might be someone close to him or someone who was already introduced. He is also trying to solve this serial killer case without the police, so he is going to do some illegal stuff, like he already broke into a morgue to examine the body and got caught, so the police are becoming more strict with their clues.

how are the events happening in chapter 4-5 in flight related to what happened in the article AIM occupation of wounded knee begins

Both the flight and the article share similarities due to the flight. Zit’s new body’s partner is racist and thinks indians are monsters. In the article, there is a part that says “Congress took no steps to honor broken indian treaties.” This shows that the government in the book and the articles don’t really think indians matter because if the government did, in both they would try and solve it. Instead of glossing over it or being racist and thinking all indians are bad.

Zits from the book flight

I think the most important aspect is that he is a native american boy who lost his parents. i think what defines Zit the most is that he doesn’t want to be in foster care.  I think this is an accurate depiction of teens if they were put in foster care because they lost their parents, or if they got taken away from them because they were bad people. But either way, they are acting out to hide their pain and to get attention so they don’t feel so lonely.

conformity

what happens to a person if they do not play by the rules of the main culture or what everyone else think is appropriate or what people should be like?

The simple anwser would be that you become an outcast or not treated like everyone else is. But an explanation would be that everyone is so worried about fitting in to society. That they decide to become one with everyone instead of being themselves becuase then nobody will think you are weird and actually talk to you but if you are acting like yourself to certain people they will mock you becuase you aren’t acting “normal” becuase they think that they are the normal. But to be honest what is the “normal” im mean it will probably differ from person to person.

loneliness and teens

what does it mean to be a teen? for most teens their going through major changes it height and their voices. they are also more likely to want to hangout with friend more often, and are more prone to depression then when they were little.

how does loneliness feel and what it can make a person do or think? loneliness feels very heavy it is definitely one of those feelings you shouldn’t be in for along cause it can make a person go into depression and depression is the first step to suicide for most people

lonliness is tied to teens becuase they can force themselves away from people if they are getting bullied or are going through depression becuase depression can make feel like u want to just shut yourself in at home and never leave but thats when loneliness creeps in make u feel heavier and sometimes when its to quit you might get thoughts about killing yourself which makes thing much worst

why do we write?

some people Write to tell stories. others people write about history. then their are teacher who teach students how to write and to get better at it. their are people who write in diaries to keep track of stuff or to write how their day went. then their are businesses that write to communicate with one another, explorer write to tell people of their travels. people also right to influence others. then their are people that write poems and songs to express themselves. but overall people right to teach others about things in the world
